What we are doing:
Reading: Review reading & comprehension strategies
using several reading selections
Spelling/LA: Review phonics & high-frequency words
Science/SS: Animal Life Cycles - Butterflies
Math: Subtraction Strategies
Test/Projects: Wednesday - addition facts timed quiz
Announcements:
*** Another great week! Thank you for all the support and helpful supplies that have been sent to our class this week!
*** Our second grade Language Arts curriculum has a ”Getting Started” section. It is designed as a quick review of important reading skills that will remind students of previous learning and get them ready for learning in the new school year. These lessons also introduce and review key routines of the program. In addition, it is an effective way to evaluate what the students already know and what they need to know to be successful in second grade. This section does not have spelling lists, so we will not have spelling words right away. I am excited to implement this program with the students! Thank you for your support!
*** Study addition math facts 0-20 each night. We will have a timed math quiz every week.
