What we are doing:  

Reading: Review reading & comprehension strategies 

using several reading selections

Spelling/LA: Review phonics & high-frequency words
Science/SS: All About Animals
Math: Addition Strategies

Test/Projects:        Wednesday -  Timed addition quiz

Announcements:

*** Thanks for all of your support the first few days of school. 
The students had positive attitudes and were ready to learn!

*** Our second grade Language Arts curriculum has a ”Getting Started”
section.  It is designed as a quick review of important reading skills that
will remind students of previous learning and get them ready for learning
in the new school year.  These lessons also introduce and review key
routines of the program.  In addition, it is an effective way to evaluate
what the students already know and what they need to know to be
successful in second grade.  This section does not have spelling lists, so
we will not have spelling words right away.   I am excited to implement
this program with the students!  Thank you for your support! 

*** Study addition math facts 0-20 each night.  We will have a timed math
quiz every Wednesday.

*** Remember to send all completed classroom forms and fees to school.
